Robin Hood Cast:

Brady Dunn (Little John) is a recent graduate from West Liberty University (WV) with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree focused toward music and theatre. He couldn’t be more excited about joining the 2017-18 Apprentice Company. Credits: The Music Man (Winthrop Paroo), Seussical (Horton the Elephant), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Albert Einstein), Spring Awakening (Otto), and Cabaret. He would like to thank his fiancé Sarah Lemley for her undying love and support, as well as his wonderful parents.

 

 

Kendra Johnson (Scarlet Will) is very honored and ecstatic to be a part of the 2017-18 Apprentice Company. She has recently graduated from the University of Montevallo with a bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theatre. She would like to thank her friends, her boyfriend Bryan and her parents for their constant love and support.

 

 

Jordan Patrick  (Robin Hood) hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is so excited to be joining the 2017-18 Apprentice Company. He received his B.A. degree in Theatre Performance at Carthage College. Some of his favorite credits include: The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Chairman), Daddy Long Legs (Jervis), Stage Kiss (He), and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bottom). He would also like to thank his family for their love and undying support, as well his dear friends the Good old Boys.

 

 

Casey Shuler (Maid Marian) is elated to be a part of the 2017-18 Apprentice Company. A Louisville, Kentucky native, Casey just graduated with her B.A. in Theatre performance from the University of Kentucky. Kenny Tran  (Sheriff of Nottingham) is an actor from Kansas City, MO. He recently obtained his BFA in Music Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University. Madison Welch (Captain of the Guard) originally from Kansas City, Madison is a graduate of Stephens College with a B.F.A in Theatre Arts: Acting Emphasis. Madison is thrilled to begin her professional career with Serenbe Playhouse and she would like to thank her friends, family, and mentors for their continued support.

 

 


Robin Hood Creative Team:

Paul McGill (Director) was raised in Pittsburgh, PA. At 17, he made his Broadway debut in La Cage aux Folles (2004). Broadway Credits: A Chorus Line, Memphis, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and Bullets Over Broadway. TV Credits: NBC’s “Smash”, Nickelodeon’s “Victorious”, as well as numerous talk shows and award shows. Film Credits: Man On Wire, House Hunting, and MGM’s remake of Fame (Kevin). Choreography Credits: Filament (World Premier, Short Round Productions); Hedwig and the Angry Inch (First National Tour); The Legend of Georgia McBride (MCC Theatre, Geffen Playhouse – Astaire Award for Outstanding Choreography & Lortel Nomination); Steve; and School for Scandal. John Burke (Original Music, Composer) is a Grammy® nominated pianist and composer with a prolific musical career and overwhelming charisma. A native of Atlanta, GA, Burke studied Spanish and music at Oglethorpe University. Since 2011, John has composed six acclaimed piano albums. Burke’s latest album, Orogen, was nominated for Best New Age Album for the 59th Annual Grammy® Awards. Burke has also composed scores for film and stage, including Serenbe Playhouse’s 2015 production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

 

Christen Orr (Fight Choreographer) is an Atlanta native with a background in film/TV, musical theatre, theatre for young audiences, stunt work and stage combat. Christen holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Valdosta State University.  She has worked in and around Atlanta including Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory, 7 Stages, Actor’s Express, Serenbe Playhouse, Aurora Theatre, The Weird Sisters Theatre Project, The Collective Project, Essential Theatre Festival.  Film/TV: Confirmation (HBO), The Cell (Stephen King), Coma (A&E), The Unwanted (ATLFF), Premature (SXSW).  Other choreography credits: Emory University, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State University, Norcross High School, Shiloh High School, Grayson High School, Parkview High School, 7 Stages Youth Creates, Camp Serenbe 2011, and Pace Academy.

 

Matt Bass (Fight Choreographer) has been choreographing fights here in Atlanta for four years now. He received his training from Fight Master Mark Guinn at his Alma Mater, Louisiana Tech University. Some of his credits include Robin Hood at Birmingham Children’s Theatre, 39 Steps at Stagedoor Players, A Few Good Men at Act Three Productions, and American Patriots at Snowcamp Outdoor Drama.

 

Scott Sargent (Scenic Design) is excited to be making his debut at Serenbe Playhouse. A graduate of the Ga Tech School of Architecture, Scott has designed and built scenery for many Atlanta theaters, including DramaTech, the Alliance and Georgia Ensemble Theatre. He has received Best Set Design awards from a number of theaters, as well as nod from Creative Loafing’s Best Of series and a Best Set Design nomination from the Shuler Hensley Awards. Scott is the Technical Director and Resident Designer at the Pace Fine Arts Center. He’d like to send a shout out to his son who was a huge help on this show and special congrats for making it to 18! Happy Birthday!

 

DeeDee Chmielewski (Costume Design) is an Atlanta based costume designer as well as dancer, choreographer, acrobat, circus artist, and musician.  She started sewing at the age of 7 years old, and on moved to pursue costume design at Valdosta State University while working on her dance degree and starring in theater productions.  Currently, she has been costuming for 7 Stages for the past seven plus years, and in 2016 won a Suzi Bass award for the Best Costume Design for a production of Lauren Gunderson’s The Revolutionist.  She is proud to be joining us here at Serenbe for our Adaptation of Robin Hood.  

 

Stephanie Polhemus (Properties Design) is happy to be back at Serenbe this summer. Previous props designs include: Miss Saigon, Charlotte’s Web, Of Mice & Men, Evita (Serenbe Playhouse); Godspell (Stage Door); The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Atlanta Lyric Theatre). She was also the props manager at The Williamstown Theatre Festival for three seasons and is a scenic designer with a BA from the University of West Georgia and an MFA from the University of Illinois.

 

Joel Coady (Production Manager) is an actor, producer, designer, and director. When not at Serenbe he is the Technical Director at The Atlanta Jewish Academy. He moved to Atlanta in 2012. Since then he has designed shows at The Alliance, Serenbe Playhouse, Catalyst, 7 Stages, Aurora Theatre, The Goat Farm, The Atlanta Jewish Academy, Pace Academy, Georgia Perimeter College, and The Weird Sister’s Theatre Project. Joel recently designed the Suzi nominated show Trestle at Pope Lick Creek with Catalyst.

 

Joe Meadows (Technical Director) Joe is an Atlanta based technician specializing in carpentry, welding, electrics, and rigging. He has worked at many professional theatrical production companies some of which include: Theatrical Outfit, Aurora Theatre,  Gypsy Theatre Company, Horizon Theatre,  I.A.T.S.E. stagehands union local 824, Atlanta Lyric, and Full Circle Lighting. After serving as Associate Technical director for the Serenbe Play house production of “Grease” he is very proud to return as Technical Director for “Robin Hood” and looks forward to many more shows at Serenbe!

 

Kellsey Hook (Rehearsal Stage Manager) is so excited to be returning to Serenbe Playhouse for their 2017 Season of Rebellion. Previous credits with them include Art and The Sleepy Hollow Experience. You can also (not) see her behind the scenes of the upcoming Macbeth. She has worked previously with The Atlanta Shakespeare Company, 7 Stage Theatre, The Seedling Project, The Fern Theatre, and Fabrefaction. Her undying gratitude goes out to the cast, crew, and audience for helping keep Atlanta’s theatre scene vibrant.

 

Donna Warfield (Performance Stage Manager/Tour Manager) is from Utah and graduated from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 2016 with her B.A. in Theatre.  Her favorite Cornell credits include Machinal, The Pillowman, and tick, tick… BOOM!  She also served as stage manager for Man of La Mancha with Cedar Rapids Opera and was a stage management fellow at Creede Repertory Theatre.  Donna would like to thank everyone at Serenbe Playhouse for giving her this opportunity.

 

Lee Anne Meeks (Tech/Tour ASM) having recently graduated from Vassar College with an A.B. in Drama, she is excited to be joining the Serenbe Playhouse 2017-18 Apprentice Company. Credits: Dead Fish, Ma Fish (collaborator/performer), The Secretaries (director), Bare: A Pop Opera (lighting designer), The Fall of Boy (lighting designer), Hedda (director, writer, lighting/sound designer), 4.48 Psychosis (lighting designer), Sleeping Beauty (lighting designer), The Cherry Orchard (lighting designer), Cabaret (dramaturg), and Violet (dramaturg). Lee Anne hopes her experience at Serenbe Playhouse will help her achieve her goal of becoming a theatremaker who can connect with an audience both emotionally and politically. Deborah Bowman* (Fräulein Kost) is honored to be back at Serenbe Playhouse after her performance as Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire (Broadway World – 2015 Best Regional Actress Award). Heidi Cline McKerley (Fräulein Schneider) is thrilled to be making her Serenbe debut in Cabaret! Heidi has worked with most of the professional theatres in Atlanta, including: Alliance, Atlanta Opera, Shakespeare Tavern, Theatrical Outfit, Actor’s Express, Atlanta Lyric, and Aurora. She is grateful to have enjoyed a 20-year working relationship with Horizon Theatre where she has directed 21 shows and is an Artistic Associate. Heidi has been nominated for 9 Suzi Bass Awards and won for Best Director of a Musical in 2011 for Avenue Q. She was the founding Producing Artistic Director of Soul-stice Repertory Ensemble, offering 27 theatrical classics at 7 Stages in 9 years. Heidi has worked regionally for Walnut Street Theatre (Philadelphia) and Oasis Theatre and Hippodrome State Theatre (Florida). Brian Clowdus (The Emcee) is an actor, educator, director, and producer. Brian received his BA in Theatre & Dance from Amherst College graduating Magna Cum Laude, with highest distinction for his Thesis Work and holds an MFA in Acting from The University of South Carolina. Brian is also the CEO & Creative Director of Brian Clowdus Experiences which is taking his environmental work all across the country. He has performed/directed in Tokyo, London, Canada, Central and South America, The Caribbean, NYC, LA and in almost every other major city in the United States. He has had the fortune of working with many major theatres and entertainment companies including: The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Surflight Theatre, Shawnee Playhouse, Park Avenue Theatricals, New Bedford Festival Theatre, The British American Drama Academy, Holland America Cruise Lines, Tokyo Disney, The Debaun Performing Arts Center, New London Barn Playhouse, The LAB Theatre, Theatre South Carolina, Aurora Theatre, Fabrefaction Theatre Company, Stagedoor Players and of course Serenbe Playhouse. Brian was named the Top Artistic Director in Atlanta and one of the Top 20 Atlantans to Watch by Creative Loafing as well as Top 15 under 40 by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine. Brian Jordan (Bobby) is currently an Atlanta based actor and has appeared in several productions in the Atlanta area. Favorite credits include: The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told (Steve) Grease, West Side Story, Carousel, and Miss Saigon. Recent Georgia credits include The Little Mermaid (Jestam), Of Mice and Men (Whit), and A Chorus Line (Greg).

 

 

 

Imani Joseph (Fritzie) is ecstatic to be joining Serenbe Playhouse in Cabaret! An alumna of Artios Academies, she studied dance with the Atlanta Ballet, as well as classical ballet and contemporary movement in intensives with gloATL, ABT, and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. She’s most recently been seen in the Magari Theatre’s Changing Tides, the Atlanta Lyric’s Beauty and the Beast, and Kitti Sparks’ See. All the love to her “Village”!

 

 

 

Edward McCreary (Ernst Ludwig) is always elated to return to Serenbe. He rode into Oklahoma! as Curly and barked his way through Carousel as Billy. Taryn McFarthing (Lulu) from Wichita, KS and holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Wichita State University. This is her first production with Serenbe Playhouse. Credits Include: All Shook Up, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, For Colored Girls, and Fame (Carmen Diaz). She is currently a member of the WNBA Atlanta Dream dance team, the Shooting Stars. She is truly honored to be a part of such a talented cast and hopes everyone enjoys the show!

 

 

Shannon Murphy (Frenchie) is thrilled to be making her Serenbe Playhouse debut! Lee Osorio* (Clifford ‘Cliff’ Bradshaw) is excited to be back at Serenbe; he was seen earlier this summer in Macbeth. He has performed in Atlanta at the Alliance (Ugly Lies the Bone, The Temple Bombing), Actor’s Express (Significant Other), and The Shakespeare Tavern (Romeo and Juliet). He has also appeared Off-Broadway (Bullet for Adolf, directed by Woody Harrelson) and in Seattle (Great Expectations, Yellow Face). Lee is a proud member of Actor’s Equity and graduate of Brown University/Trinity Repertory MFA program.

Terrence Smith (Victor) is a recent graduate of The University of West Georgia, holding a BA in Theatre. Molly Tynes* (Sally Bowles) is delighted to make her Serenbe Playhouse debut. Molly was recently seen on Broadway in Pippin (Original Cast and u/s Leading Player, Fastrada, Catherine) as well as in the 1st National Tour of Pippin (Fastrada). Other touring credits: 1st National Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (u/s Baroness), and the Goodspeed National Tour of Pippin (Manson Trio). Off-Broadway, Molly appeared as Lola Touche in the rock musical Chix 6 (La Mama). TV credits: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The 67th Annual Tony Awards, and the Macy’s Parade. Regional credits: Cassie in A Chorus Line (Ordway), Mrs. Potiphar in Joseph… (Stages St. Louis), Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde (Arvada), Apache Dancer in Can-Can (Paper Mill), and many more. Molly is also an aerialist specializing in lyra and silks. She thanks her family, Richard, The Mine, and of course Brian for the opportunity to do this spectacular show!

 

Robert Wayne (Herr Schultz) is excited to make his debut on the Serenbe stage with this wonderful cast! He has performed in over 60 productions locally with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Actor’s Express, Shakespeare Tavern, Theatre of the Stars, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Theatre in the Square, Fabrefaction, Essential Theatre, Stage Door Players, Onstage Atlanta, UGA, KSU, GSU, and GPC. Favorites shows include The Elephant Man, Spring Awakening, Ragtime, and Titanic. Television: The Have and Have Nots and Breaking Away. Ryan Oliveti (Associate Director) is a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. Chris Brent Davis (Music Director, Piano/Conductor) couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at Serenbe Playhouse for his third season as Music Director having received a Suzi Bass Award for his work on last summer’s Miss Saigon. Bubba Carr (Choreographer) began his career touring with MGM star Mitzi Gaynor then was a regular on the television show “FAME” and a “Starsearch” win in 1987 with the all male group “Boys Club,” Music Videos: Cher; Prince. TV: “Drop Dead Diva;” “The Nanny;” “Friends;” “Scrubs;” “Oprah;” “Tonight Show with Jay Leno;” “The Academy Awards;” “The Grammy Awards;” “American Music Awards; “MTV Music Awards;” “So You Think You Can Dance” (US & Canada). Film: Rock of Ages, Footloose, Austin Powers: Goldmember, Batman & Robin, Wild Wild West, Out to Sea, Anchorman 2. Tours: Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Dirty Dancing Live. He’s also toured with legendary entertainer Cher in her “Heart of Stone” 89’, “Love Hurts” 91’, “Believe” 99’, “Living Proof” 02’ world tours, including “Cher at Caesars Palace” 07’. Choreographed: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Internship, Bolden, Goosebumps, Bolden, Passengers, and The Monkey King. Adam Kock (Scenic Design) Previously at Serenbe: Miss Saigon, Carousel and The Sleepy Hollow Experience. Internationally Adam designed the 2017 production of Dreamgirls in Seoul, South Korea, as well as the upcoming premiere of Frank Wildhorn’s Excalibur. In Washington D.C. Adam was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award (Outstanding Scenic Design) for both Kiss of the Spider-woman (Signature Theatre) and Bat Boy (1st Stage). Credits across the United States include the original Chicago production of Million Dollar Quartet (Apollo Theatre), as well as productions at New World Stages and Theatre Row in New York City, Ford’s Theatre, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Geva Theatre Center, Paper Mill Playhouse, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Ogunquit Playhouse, Syracuse Stage, Bucks County Playhouse, and Portland Stage. Mr. Koch is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, and has collaborated on over 60 productions with Associate Scenic Designer Steven Royal. 

 

Steven Royal (Associate Scenic Design) has created experiences all over the world working as Creative Director for The Becker Group and Global Experience Specialists including set designs for Harry Potter: The Exhibition. Other nightlife and event clients include AOL, Google, Target, WWD, A&E, The History Channel, The Saint at Large and Heritage of Pride NYC including designs for Pier 26 and the 30th annual Pier Dance in New York City with Adam Koch. Additionally, Steven has collaborated with Adam on over 60 musicals, plays and live events. Other selected design credits include: Gross Indecency (Directed by Moises Kaufman), Saving Kitty (Starring Jennifer Coolidge), Broadway Bares 25 (Directed by Jerry Mitchell), and Lincoln Center Originals (Directed by Lonny Price and Matt Cowart). Education: North Carolina School of the Arts. Recipient of the 2015 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director of a Musical for Bat Boy: The Musical in Washington, D.C. 

 

Brianna Bass (Scenic Painter) holds an MA from Louisiana Tech University. She has enjoyed the pleasure of painting for several Atlanta Theatres, including 7 Stages (The Revolutionist, White Woman in Progress) and The Alliance Theatre (The Jungle Room). Brianna is ecstatic to have had this unique opportunity of participating in the dramatic recreation of Weimar, Germany and the famous Kit Kat Club that you see before you this evening. Erik Teague (Costumes Design) is a Washington D.C. local Freelance Costume Designer a Georgia native and truly excited to be returning to Serenbe Playhouse. Serenbe Playhouse: Evita, The Snow Queen. Lindsey Ewing (Wig Design) graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts of Winston-Salem, NC, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (concentration in wig and makeup design) in 2008. She is Wigmaster at The Alliance Theater in Atlanta, GA, and does professional freelance work in theatre, print, and special events and occasions. Included in Lindsey’s list of work are such companies as The Spoleto Festival USA, Troika Entertainment, Sarasota Opera Company, Opera Carolina, Piedmont Opera, Utah Shakespearean Festival, UNC Chapel Hill’s Playmaker’s Rep, The University of Maryland, Aurora Theatre, and Kennesaw State University.

Alysha Burgwardt (Wardrobe Mistress) is a costume designer and makeup artist originally from Rocky Hill, CT. She is a recent graduate of Pace University in New York City where she achieved a BFA in Performing Arts Production & Design with a minor in Film & Screen Studies. She is a new Georgian resident and is ecstatic to add Serenbe Playhouse as her first theatrical credit within Georgia! Costume Design: Hair, Massacre, Oliver!, Fiddler on the Roof, American Idiot, Pajama Game, Dance Space, Big Love, Dance Out Loud, and Blue Room. Jarrad Hogg (Makeup Design) studied Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta and currently works for the CDC as a Visual Information Specialist. He previously worked with The Fox Theatre, The Fox Theatre Rising Stars, Camp Broadway, and as Education Director for Serenbe Playhouse. Jarrad is thrilled to be a part of the Serenbe Playhouse family and is looking forward to the adventures ahead! Makeup Design: The Sleepy Hollow Experience, The Snow Queen, Macbeth. 

 

Kelsey Mardis (Properties Designer, Spotlight Operator) is a technical theatre practitioner from Choudrant, Louisiana. She studied at Louisiana Tech University where she earned a degree in 2013. She’s danced with the exalted spirits of the Atlanta theatrical arts since fall of 2014 and since has shared her love of creating and teamwork with such establishments like The Center for Puppetry Arts, 7 Stages, The Alliance, Actors Express and Serenbe Playhouse. She treads the razor’s edge of many different technically theatrical facets including but not limited to lighting, sound, props, paint, carpentry and costumes. She thanks her parents, sister and roommates for all of their undying love and support.

Adam Howarth (Sound Designer) is a designer, educator, consultant, and manager. Adam holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Sound Design and has been awarded an Ovation Award in Los Angles, a Motif Award in New England, and most recently the 2016 Suzi Bass Award for best musical sound design for Miss Saigon at Serenbe Playhouse. Adam owns and operates Production Frontier providing sound design services and rentals for themed environments. He has designed and consulted for both Disney Imagineering and Universal Studios while leading R&D for Eastern Acoustic Works. He has lectured at multiple institutions and served as faculty for Emerson College. Adam has a passion for working with theatres interested in designing site specific productions including REDCAT, Arts Emerson, A.R.T., Actor’s Shakespeare Project, Trinity Rep, and Berkshire Theatre Festival to name a few.

 

Rob Brooksher (Sound Designer & Engineer) is thrilled to return to Serenbe after sound engineering Grease, and Miss Saigon. Recent Atlanta theatre: Le Petit Prince (Theatre du Reve); Constellations, Nobody Loves You (Horizon Theatre Company); Big Fish (Theatrical Outfit); On the Verge (Georgia Ensemble Theatre). Christa Arzon (Stage Manager) is a freelance stage manager from Orlando, Florida. She was last seen at Serenbe as the Stage Manager for Miss Saigon. Previous to this she has spent her time working in numerous professional, regional, and touring theatres. She’s also enjoyed the past year that she’s spent on the national tour of Rent. Other past favorite productions include Carousel (Serenbe Playhouse) and Man of La Mancha (Barrington Stage Co.).

 

Joel Coady (Production Manager) is an actor, producer, designer, and director. When not at Serenbe he is the Technical Director at The Atlanta Jewish Academy. He moved to Atlanta in 2012. Since then he has designed shows at The Alliance, Serenbe Playhouse, Catalyst, 7 Stages, Aurora Theatre, The Goat Farm, The Atlanta Jewish Academy, Pace Academy, Georgia Perimeter College, and The Weird Sister’s Theatre Project. Joel recently designed the Suzi nominated show Trestle at Pope Lick Creek with Catalyst.

Donna Warfield (Assistant Stage Manager) is from Utah and graduated from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 2016 with her B.A. in Theatre. Her favorite Cornell credits include Macbeth, Robin Hood, Machinal, The Pillowman, and Tick, Tick… BOOM! She also served as stage manager for Man of La Mancha with Cedar Rapids Opera and was a stage management fellow at Creede Repertory Theatre. Stephanie Frasher (Spotlight Operator) is a technical artist based in Marietta, GA. She earned her BFA in Technical Theatre from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Her recent credits include: Followspot Op for Serenbe Playhouse’s Grease; Master Electrician for Circle Mirror Transformation in Huntington, WV; Intelligent Lighting Designer & Programmer for A Christmas Carol; Interned at LDI in Las Vegas. She has also Designed: Living the Dream and Playing with Fire at the Soundstage Theatre in Manteo, NC.
