FAQs and other things:
Technology – Serenbe Playhouse Academy offers a rare experience in today’s technologically geared society, providing our campers exposure to art through connection with nature, offering opportunities to spend time outdoors, and challenging our young artists to look at their environment and to create art inspired by the world around them. So that said: No cell phones or electronic games at camp so campers can connect with nature and each other! Personal cameras are allowed.
At Home – Is the perfect place to continue to engage your child! Help them run lines or practice dances or songs, ask them to teach the family a new theatre game or share something they learned! We guarantee it will put a smile on your faces! Also we do spend time in the woods and outdoors in the sun, so once home please do check for ticks each day, re-hydrate, and get good rest each night.
At Camp – Serenbe Playhouse Academy is very conscious of creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to be themselves. Please remind you child that while they are at camp their counselor is in charge. If your child ever has a problem with another child during camp they should be comfortable communicating that to a counselor during a snack or lunch break. If your camper does not feel comfortable approaching their counselor during the day, please do not hesitate to contact Director of Education, Jennifer Acker, via email or phone. If your child is causing continuous problems in their group, they will be asked to sit out. If the problem persists, the child will be sent home.
Overview – Serenbe Playhouse Academy is so looking forward to inspiring and engaging with your children this Summer! As you know, time and time again research has proven that exposure to the arts has a bounty of positive effects on young minds; improving children’s academic performance, standardized test scores, social skills, ability to excel in other studies, personal motivation, and most rewarding of all, it promotes a well-rounded and creatively happy child! Add to that Serenbe Playhouse’s dedication to connecting art and community through nature, and a truly one-of-a-kind arts experience comes to life for our young artists.
