Our Stages

Serenbe Playhouse is site-specific outdoor theatre, utilizing the gorgeous structures and backdrops of nature that the Serenbe Community has to offer. As a model in green theatre practices, we take pride in doing as little construction as possible and choose locations that lend themselves to our productions.

The Serenbe Courtyard Mainstage

The heart of Serenbe, will be transformed this year into NYC for our opening production of Ordinary Days. We will embrace the existing brick buildings with their balconies and windows utilizing them to their greatest potential to give that urban, city-life feel.

The Serenbe Farmer’s Market Stage

The bustling energy of the Farmer’s Market will be echoed in the tales of adventure in Shipwrecked! An Entertainment: The Amazing Adventures or Louis de Rougemont (at told by himself) Louis will enter the market place, stand about a bare stage and begin recreating that feel of old fashioned story-telling in which a man might stand upon a box and begin pitching his tales to market shoppers and passers.

The Pavilion Lake Stage

For The Ugly Duckling, we are actually building a stage in between the banks of this serene lake-side view. The structure will be built underneath water and will be invisible as to give the effect that actors and dancers are floating and dancing upon the water’s surface.
