*Christy Baggett- Claire in Ordinary Days

Christy is thrilled to be back at Serenbe Playhouse after appearing as Jen in John and Jen last summer. She was most recently seen as Ida in the Alliance Theatre’s production of Honk! Favorite credits include Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray (Atlanta Lyric, Suzi Bass Nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical), Betty Blake in The Will Rogers Follies (Atlanta Lyric), Linoleum in The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Actor’s Express), Ann Collier in The 1940′s Radio Hour (Theatre in the Square), Betty Jean in Winter Wonderettes (ART Station), as well as the Suzi Bass nominated productions of Godspell, Big River, (Theatrical Outfit), and A Catered Affair (Aurora Theatre). Christy has also worked as a teaching artist and serves on the Board of Stage Door Players in Dunwoody. Special thanks to Brian and Will, and love to Chris, VB, and her supportive family and friends.

Brian Clowdus- Warren in Ordinary Days

Brian Clowdus is the Founder and Executive/Artistic Director of Serenbe Playhouse.  Brian received his BA in Theatre & Dance from Amherst College graduating Magna Cum Laude, with highest distinction for his Thesis Work and just finished his graduate studies at The University of South Carolina with an MFA in Acting. Favorite Professional Acting Credits include: The Broadway National Tour of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Miss Texas in The Atlanta Premiere of Pageant directing by creator Bill Russell. The Emcee in Cabaret, Sir Walter Raleigh in The Lost Colony, FrankNFurter in The Rocky Horror Show, Billy Flynn in Chicago, Ozzie in On The Town, Fred Graham in Kiss Me Kate, Frankie in Forever Plaid, Willard in Footloose and John in John and Jen. Favorite MFA Acting Credits include: Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency,  Eilif in Mother Courage, Macbeth in Macbeth, Roy in Cosi, Sharyrhar in The Arabian Nights, Tartuffe in Tartuffe and Polixenes in The Winter’s Tale.  Brian also has a self-written and performed one-man show entitled Technicolor Memoirs. Brian most recently worked with the world-renowned Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC with an acting fellowship performing in Cymbeline and as Oberon in Dream a Little Dream (an adaption of Midsummer Night’s Dream.) Andrew Crigler- Ted, The Ugly Duckling in The Ugly Duckling

Andrew is an aspiring actor, director, writer and teaching artist. He recently received his BA in Theatre and Performance Studies from Kennesaw State University with a minor in dance. He began his professional performance career as a mime at the age of 15 and continued performing as part of Impact Dance’s Celebration Dance Company. It was not until college that Andrew discovered theatre. He has since directed two student works and acted in several college productions. He also played the part of George in Theatrical Outfit’s A Confederacy of Dunces with Laura Floyd who is also appearing in Serenbe’s exciting second season. He is currently the Personnel Director for The Collective Project, Inc. which seeks to provide artists with connections, locations, and funding for their art forms without the limitations of grants. He has performed with TCPI in Revolutio: Children of an Idle Brain, The Othering of Mr. Windebaggin, The Theory of Everything, The Voodoo Review, and Quiet! They Can Smell Fear. Laura Floyd- Deb in Ordinary Days

is thrilled to be at Serenbe. Recent regional credits: A Confederacy of Dunces (world premiere/ Theatrical Outfit); A Catered Affair (regional premiere/ Aurora Theatre); The Mikado (Atlanta Lyric); Sanders Family Christmas (Theatre in the Square); Beyond the Rainbow (Georgia Ensemble); and The World Goes Round (Stage Door Players). She has appeared twice as a guest soloist with the Atlanta Symphony. Laura holds a degree in Theatre and Music from Shorter College and a Master’s in Music Performance from Mercer University. While at Shorter, she was named Most Outstanding Performer in the Nation by the Kennedy Center ACTF for her role as Maria in Shorter’s production of West Side Story. Next up: Mt. Ben Isabel- Bill/Cat in The Ugly Duckling

Ben is so excited to be joining Brian Clowdus and Serenbe Playhouse this summer. He was most recently seen in Pageant: The Musical Comedy Beauty Contest at the 14th Street Playhouse as Miss West Coast. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shorter College. At Shorter, he performed in several shows including The Wedding Singer (Ensemble), Tartuffe (Officer, Damis u.s.), Guys and Dolls (Ensemble, Nicely u.s.), Sweeney Todd (Birdseller, Ensemble), and Still Life With Iris (Mozart). Professionally he has also worked at Greenbrier Valley Theatre and Timberlake Playhouse in shows such as Urinetown (Billy Boy Bill) and the premiere of a new play, Thursday’s Child (Chappy). He send thanks to his family, Preston, Kathy, and friends for their continued love and support.

 

Emma Jackson- Alberta/Neil Swantrick Harris in The Ugly Duckling

Emma Jackson recently returned to the United States after spending over two years in Azerbaijan with the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Specialist.  While abroad she taught theater and dance and worked on development projects for women.  She also wrote, produced and directed a bi-lingual production of Jack and the Beanstalk for the Shamaxi Russian Primary School.  Since returning home, Emma has co-starred in the short film Yellow and is excited to be joining the acting company at Serenbe.  Before searching for adventure in foreign lands, she could be found performing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Los Angeles, Meeting at the Elders’ Circle in St. Louis, along with commercial and film work.  Emma earned her B.F.A from Webster University’s Conservatory of Theater Arts.

*Mark Kincaid- Louis de Rougemont in Shipwrecked!

Mark is so excited to be working at this new and exciting Theatre at Serenbe! Locally, his work has been seen on the stages of The Alliance Theatre: The Grapes of Wrath, God’s Man In Texas, The Miracle Worker, Southern Cross, Carapace, Medea The Georgia Shakespeare Festival: Richard II, Tartuffe, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Nights Dream, A Christmas Story. Theatre in The Square: Bus Stop, Charley’s Aunt, Far East. Georgia Ensemble Theatre: To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Living. Theatrical Outfit : The Chase, A Confederacy of Dunces. The Horizon Theatre: 13th of Paris. The Aurora Theatre: Dracula and Actors Express: The Goat, The Pillowman. Nationally, he has worked at The Old Globe Theatre, The McCarter Theatre, Peoples Light and Theatre Company, Mill Mountain Stage, Hope Summer Repertory, and The Hippodrome State Theatre. For eight seasons, Mr. Kincaid was a company member at The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival where he played a variety of roles including Prospero, Macbeth, and Cyrano De Bergerac and has twice toured the nation with The Acting Company. He very happily married the extraordinarily beautiful and gifted actress Tess Malis Kincaid and is the very proud father of the remarkable Barbara Rose Kincaid.

Dustin Lewis- Jason in Ordinary Days

Dustin  is more than thrilled to be making his Serenbe Playhouse debut! Originally from Illinois, he has made his home in Atlanta for the past 4 years.  He has worked throughout the world as a performer, director and choreographer having worked for such stars as Dick Clark and Michael Jackson. Dustin owned his own theater company, At Home Players, in the Chicago area and also served as Sales and Marketing Director for Haberdashers Dinner Playhouse in Peoria, IL.  He moved to Atlanta in October 2006 to open The Legacy Theatre, where he was part of the creative team, Sales and Marketing Director and actor. This past fall, Dustin produced Pageant: The Musical Comedy Beauty Contest at 14th Street Playhouse were he also played Miss Great Plains. Most recently, he made his Atlanta Lyric Theatre debut as Bert Berry in 42nd Street and will be returning to the Lryic in Leader of the Pack. In March-April he will be starring as Thief/Priest in the southeastern premiere of See What I Wanna See at Actor’s Express.  Dustin was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award in 2009 for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in john & jen, Credits: Company (Bobby),  Das Barbecu (Siegfried), Miss Saigon (Swing), Joseph…Dreamcoat (Original German Cast), Do Patent Leather Shoes… (Eddie), Spitfire Grill (Caleb), Kind David Oratorio (Joab), Forever Plaid/ Plaid Tidings (Sparky),  The Wizard of Oz (Cowardly Lion). He has worked on many local TV/Film Projects including Meet the Browns, Drop Dead Diva, The Walking Dead, 96 Minutes, Hall Pass and will be featured in Joyful Noise starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. Dustin would like to thank his friend Brian Clowdus for inviting him to accompany him on this amazing journey!

 

 

 

Jessica Miesel- Mama Duck/Chicken in The Ugly Duckling

Jessica is thrilled to be making her Serenbe debut with such a delightful cast and an incredible creative team.  Jessica is originally from Atlanta, but spent the last four years pounding the streets of New York City.  However, she recently relocated to her stomping grounds and is so happy to be home!  She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shorter College.  Favorite college credits include Claire in Proof, Sally in Cabaret and Titania in Midsummer. Other favorite credits include Cathy in The Last Five Years and Urinetown (Icon Theatre). A special “I love you” to Mom and Dad, an enormous thank you to Brian and the creative team at Serenbe and of course, to her dream team, Tom and Di Ana, for without, nothing would be possible.

 

 

 

Will Shuler-Player #2 in Shipwrecked!/Cpt. Honks in The Ugly Duckling

Will received his BA in Music and Theatre from the University of South Carolina. For nearly fifteen years, he has studied piano with Jennifer Langford, Dr. Eugene Barban, Dr. Tien-Ni Chen, and Dr. Joseph Rackers. He has studied acting and movement with Robert Richmond, Robyn Hunt, Steve Pearson, and David Britt. While in South Carolina, Will worked for Theatre South Carolina, USC Lab Theatre, Town, Workshop, Trustus, and Columbia Children’s Theatres, Roanoke Island Historical Association, and Pacific Performance Project/east. Since moving to Atlanta in May of 2010, Will has worked with Two Fat Farmers Productions, True Colors Theatre Company, Center for Puppetry Arts, Stage Door Players, and also was a company member for the inaugural season of Serenbe Playhouse. In March and April of 2011, he made is NYC debut in Flight as Gerard with Pacific Performance Project/east. Recent acting credits include: Flight (Gerard), Shakespeare’s R&J (Student 1/Romeo), The Jungle Book (Kaa), Cyrano de Bergerac (Poet/Accordion Player), The Lost Colony (Actor/Tech), Simon’s Pirate Adventure (Ginger), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Le Chevalier Danceny), The Snow Queen (Kai/Poo), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin), and Southern Baptist Sissies (Brother Chaffey/Houston). Recent music direction/supervision/conducting credits include: Pageant, john & jen, The Jungle Book, Lorca: Alone in a Dream, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Oklahoma!, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mother Courage and Her Children, West Side Story, and Jekyll & Hyde.

Rose Shields- Waddles/Tony Kushwan and Dance Captain in The Ugly Duckling

Rose graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2007 with her BFA in Dance. While there, she had the privilege to study under and perform works by Dianne Markham, Sean Sullivan, Brenda Daniels, Sara Skaggs, Limón Dance Company, and Camille Brown. Through UNCSA, Rose choreographed two works, one of which was a solo performed at the Cunningham Studios in NYC in 2007. She performed with the Open Dream Ensemble for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons and has recently worked with and performed works by Bubba Carr and T. Lang in Atlanta. Rose’s favorite color is purple and she loves to be outside climbing trees and going on adventures. Rose also works in the Gwinnett County Public School system in GA as a substitute teacher for grades K-12, where she enjoys helping students to be active learners through the use of arts and academic integration. She is a closet breakdancer and loves all styles of dance and physical expression.

Dasie Thames- The Narrator in The Ugly Duckling

Dasie Thames is thrilled to be a part of Serenbe Playhouse’s second season!  She was most recently seen on stage as part of the Ensemble in Rent (The Atlanta Lyric Theater), The Spirit of Love in You Passed Me By (BNBI Productions) and The Great Wolf in The Jungle Book (Serenbe Playhouse).  She has also completed several film projects including Unser Rheinland (FSU –filmed in German language), Blossoms for Clara (Colossal Filmworks), and The Govenors’ Daughter (Lawyer Henderson).   When not acting Dasie enjoys singing and spending time with her family.  She sends much love and thanks to her family and friends for their continued support.  Let’s Glow!

 

 

*Minka Wiltz as Player #1 in Shipwrecked!

Born in Atlanta, GA. Minka is very happy to be making her Serenbe Playhouse debut in SHIPWRECKED! Minka’s Credits include: 15+ years in theatre, 20 plus years in operatic and concert singing. A Suzi Bass Nominee; work with The Horizon, Actors Express, The Alliance and Synchronicity; The Atlanta Opera under the baton of Maestro William Fred Scott in Madama Butterfly, The Atlanta Opera in the Atlanta premiere of  Porgy and Bess under the baton of Maestro Stefano; Sang with The Atlanta Symphony and The Morehouse Glee Club under the baton of Maestro Robert Shaw. Toured with The Capitol City Opera debut  of Marian Anderson by playwright John Stephens, highlights of Porgy and Bess, Aida, and Don Gionvanni. Dido in Dido and Aeneas under the baton of Maestro William Fred Scott. It is with great pleasure that Minka adds Serenbe Playhouse, Brian Clowdus, and the cast and crew to the roster of wonderful professionals with whom she has been able to work.
